"We used his facilty in 1976 when it was owned and operated by the local indigenous people. It excelled in all ways. We really enjoyed the pride they held of this hotel, including the indigenous artwork and culture displayed throughout the building.
We were disappointed this time on so many level. The smell of cleaning products, broken or warn fixtures. Poor repairs of plumbing. Paper cups supplied with the coffee machine. Room located at near the rear door in an area of maintenence rooms and staff. No artwork in hallway or room. Amateur installation of TV with 4 pieces of modem and other electrical boxes on display infront of the TV.
Restaurant staff & front counter staff reaking of cigarette smoke. The same staff hanging around outside the front entry and smoking. Not an inviting greeting in todays world. The smoking staff where on full display through the large restaurent windows that run the full length of the entry into the main entrance of the hotel.
My wife and I arrived tired from a long three days of driving. We looked forward to a simple supper and sleep in a place we knew of many years ago.
We just wanted a good bowl of soup and sum sleep. She ordered the seafood soup and I ordered the beef stew. Having lived in Alberta all of my 79 years I had a good appreciation of the taste of good beef dishes. The meat??? The meat?? was finely ground, unrecognizable??? No taste of beef. Vegys over cooked.
$200 for this experience. NOT WORTH $80.00.
