“Casa da Fonte is nestled in one of the sweetest villages within Gerês. This place was a good value for price. However, we had major issues with check in. We sent inquiries about check in days before and received no response. We didn’t get our check in information until after the check in time, forcing us to sit in a fierce, cold rain storm. The place smelled like cigarettes and the host is not on site/wasn’t responsive. However, we may have been a one off. Everybody has a bad day and we hope……

“Nice stay in a lovely hotel with parking, but do not pay for the breakfast. The breakfast was supposed to be a buffet, but due to low occupancy it was changed to a la carte. We were given a paper to fill out and return to the front desk with our breakfast choices. The breakfast was terrible! The toast were hard and cold, the bacon was not even warm and the "sausage" were mini weiners out of a can. Save the money and go to a local coffee shop for breakfast if you have the choice.”

“This was one of our favorite places we stayed in Portugal. The lady who runs this is absolutely wonderful (as well as her pet goat and dogs). She even makes a lovely homemade breakfast, by request, for only 6€ a person. In the morning, we could smell her homemade bread baking. The suite we stayed in had a full kitchen, a super comfortable bed, nice bathroom and a beautiful balcony with a view of the hills. The property is very quiet and located in such a peaceful area. If we ever go back to……
