However, everything else is pretty subpar. The room feels very old. The shower definitely needs a new showerhead, and the bathtub is old and discolored. The heater is extremely loud, which made it hard to sleep at night. The bed was also not comfortable. That said, if you’re just looking for a basic place to eat, sleep, and be close to the mountain, this place does the job. Even more suspicious, the attendant told us that we should book directly with the hotel instead of through Expedia. This was on December 31st and finding another accommodation on New Year's Eve was not possible. We strongly recommend against booking there. Host is very hospitable and attended to our every needs. Dinner was delicious although our 1st preference of brisket wasn’t available. The room was clean and bathroom was tidy. A nice place after a whole-day filled with outdoor activities. Both stays, the gentleman who checks you in was pleasant and professional. The lady bar tender / waitress who works in the evening as well as the lady that works breakfast hours were both unprofessional and rude. You almost have to feel bad for them because they are over the top angry for no apparent reason and this happened both weekends in a row. I wasn't going to say anything negative because my family enjoyed our stay regardless but this happened two weekends in a row. Very close to beautiful lake. Also, the beds are old and hard and could use some new ones to help with a good nights rest.
