Central Oregon's Sunriver sits next to Deschutes River, with the Cascades to the west and Newberry Volcanic National Monument to the east. The monument is home to the Lava River Cave, a mile-long lava tube available for self-guided exploration. In town, the Sunriver Nature Center and Observatory features a range of hands-on educational exhibits in addition to a botanical garden and a nature trail.
