Staff did not interact with us in any way. Not sure if they were there. There was an event the night we arrived and a wedding party coming in as we left. We felt like awkward guests in someone else's stay. We checked ourselves into our room--no waters, no glasses, no ice, no ice bucket, no fan, no microwave, no mini fridge. The mini split (a/c or heat) did not work. We spent at least 45 minutes trying to get any kind of air moving in the room. The breakfast was not worth mentioning. I believe it's listed as continental but it was really nothing to speak of. And with a restaurant space right there, I thought they might have come up with just a few real food items. I felt nothing but regret for booking a not-cheap room with zero amenities. My room was comfortably appointed, clean and quiet. The stairs getting up to the third floor were challenging, as there is no elevator, but I was offered help with my luggage. The was zero hospitality - no one there to check us in, no one at the desk when we came down in the morning for breakfast. The breakfast was not worth eating. Single-serving cereal (Special K and Frosted Flakes) and some plain bagels in plastic wrap. There was no place to get water. No real coffee cups - just plastic. There was no staff around to ask questions or get help. We stayed for one night to attend a family wedding nearby in aurora, and we were in love with the springside. The rooms are adorable, just our style, and the entire property is gorgeous. The vintage style is so fun and comfy, and it’s very clean and well taken care of. It was a huge bonus that it’s close to the lake because I’m a runner and there was lots of beautiful scenery as I did my five mile run this morning. If I could give the inn 10 stars I would, we will never stay anywhere else when we’re visiting family in the area.
