Through exciting games and exhibits learn about science at one of Vancouver’s most family-friendly educational attractions.

TELUS World of Science is a remarkable science museum with engaging permanent and temporary exhibits. Recognizable by its sleek modern design and huge dome, the museum makes for an ideal day out for families. Learn the fascinating way things operate through interactive displays and experiments.

Watch a movie at the largest domed screen in the world, which is five-stories high. The Omnimax Theater shows a range of intriguing films from cartoons to documentaries.

Engage with the experiments in the Eureka section. Learn about radio waves and engineering with fun games. Play with parachutes, propellers and your own shadow. Younger children will love Kidspace, which has ball games and blocks for building castles.

Challenge your mind in the puzzles and illusions display, which contains a variety of images that are not quite as they seem. Take part in a game against your friends or family members. Watch a show about fire, electricity, air or other forces of nature at the Peter Brown Family Centre Stage.

Visit the Kaleidoscope store for toys, puzzles and souvenirs. Buy a science experiment to try at home with children.

Many temporary exhibits visit the museum for months at a time and a schedule can be found on the official website. TELUS World of Science is closed Mondays and an admission fee applies, with discounts available for seniors, students and children. Children younger than 3 enter for free.

Find the TELUS World of Science in southeastern Vancouver, on the edge of False Creek. Take a bus or train to the Pacific Central Station immediately outside the museum or ride the SkyTrain to Main Street Skytrain Station. Nearby landmarks include Hinge Park, Creekside Park and the Olympic Village Square.

The 0-5 play area was PERFECT for our little ones. We spent most of the time there playing with stuff.

Very crowded, not a ton of exhibits but a neat way to spend a rainy morning. The pixar exhibit is very thorough!
