"I had such a lovely stay with Manuel and Sigrid! A B&B style property and their home, I joined them for dinner that evening too. My French is stumbling but between that and Google translate we had a very nice evening and the food was great. I arrived on my motorcycle and Manuel organised secure garaged parking for me. Apparently they often host cyclists and bikers and were very welcoming. So a lovely air-conditioned room, lovely hosts and great food. Recommended!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Taillet?
The best area to stay in Taillet is within the village itself, particularly around the central square and the roads leading off it.

Taillet is a small, elevated village known for its tranquility and scenic views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. The village center features a charming church, a small town hall, and a few local establishments. It's a place where you can enjoy peaceful walks and the natural beauty of the Pyrenees-Orientales.

For couples seeking a quiet retreat, staying directly within Taillet offers an ideal experience. You'll find a selection of guesthouses and vacation rentals that provide comfort and easy access to hiking trails and panoramic viewpoints. The focus here is on relaxation and enjoying the natural environment.

When is the best time to go to Taillet?
The best time to visit Taillet is during the spring (April to June) and fall (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the natural beauty of the Occitanie region is at its peak.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and exploring the countryside, spring offers mild temperatures and blooming flora, making it ideal for walks through the Pyrenees foothills. You'll find the local markets beginning to flourish with regional produce.

Couples looking for a peaceful getaway will appreciate the fall months. The vineyards surrounding Taillet showcase beautiful autumn colors, and the cooler, dry weather is great for leisurely drives through the scenic routes of Occitanie.
