Where to stay

Set amid glorious, semitropical greenery, Tallahassee is a great urban oasis. Roadside hotels offer convenient accommodations for people passing through. Alternatively, settle into the laid-back atmosphere of the city. In the spring and fall, book a room in advance to avoid the rushes of parents coming to pick up and drop off students at the city center's two universities, Florida State University and Florida International University. With the exception of the very center of the city, Tallahassee's neighborhoods are a place where personal vehicles are generally required, so it's a good idea to bring the car for any stay.
