Casa on High is high on “vibe” and “character”, but dismally low on practicality. Owners would benefit from less attention to décor and more to function. This accommodation is best suited for young people traveling with backpacks or duffle bags that can be thrown on the floor, as there are no dressers, tables etc on which to put luggage, and the large mirrored closet that is shown in the Expedia listing in one of the bedrooms is LOCKED…when I questioned it, I was informed it is only there for the cleaner’s storage (fine, provide some hooks/shelves instead, though). The other bedroom had an unlocked closet, but it was taken up by stored items (including, oddly, several cases of beer). I was able to use half the large bed for staging my suitcase, but if sharing a bed that would not work. I nabbed an over-the-door hook from the other bedroom for hanging some clothes, so that helped a little. Unless the owners add some sort of functional luggage/clothing arrangement, people not amenable to dealing with open suitcases on the floor would probably not be happy here. Neither bedroom had any reading lamps.
Water pressure minimal at times. Plus there were safety concerns: my partner hit his shoulder on a sharp corner of the strangely placed metal mailbox at the bottom of the stairs; one b/r had loose sockets. Stairway was musty/dingy/needed paint. Artsy, walkable neighborhood redeemed the problems to a degree, but very noisy with cars/Harleys cruising at night. Parking was fine.
