9.2/10 Wonderful! (1,830 reviews)
Summary: they charged me a bogus fee for using a bed that should have been included in my reservation. It felt like a bait and switch and I really didn't like it.
I booked a room for a family of five people. I was placed in a room with one queen/king sized bed, two twin beds, and a full/queen pull out sofa. Should be fine as there are 6 bed spaces in the room.
However, at check in the receptionist said there was an extra $50/night to use the pull out. I pointed out that use of the pull out would be necessary to have a bed space for each person in my reservation and the receptionist agreed to send someone up to make up the pull out. She never insisted on payment, so I stayed.
It turned out that the hotel was short on bedding, but eventually they found a single sheet, a small blanket, and a single pillow to make up the pull out. Not ideal but okay for a child. Certainly not worth $50/night.
Then at checkout, as I'm trying to head to the airport, a different receptionist insisted that I pay for the pull out. Again, a classic bait and switch. How does a booking for 5 people not include the use of 5 bed spaces? How is a sheet, a pillow and a blanket worth $50/night? Why was it not clear I was being charged until checkout? I don't know the answers to these questions, but I do know I'd never stay here again.
