Once you've admired the famous Lion of Belfort, you can walk up the Citadel where you are granted with amazing views of the city, as well as a very good view of the walls of the citadel's fortifications.
Belfort in France is a small and quite attractive stop on the main rail line to Besancon

of 22 metres long and 11 metres high by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, sculptor of the Statue of Liberty,
The lion symbolizes the heroic French resistance during the Siege of Belfort, a 103-day Prussian assault from December 1870 to February 1871.
