Things to do in Kornik

Stary Rynek is one of the most beautiful squares in Central Europe and one of the largest in Poland. See the gorgeous buildings bordering the square, enjoy a drink on one of its many pretty restaurant terraces and listen to live street music performances.

Malta Lake is artificially formed and surrounded by family-friendly attractions and activities. In summer, play miniature golf, sunbathe or cycle around the lake’s scenic perimeter. In winter, go skating on the indoor rink or race down the toboggan run. The area around the lake also features one of the largest zoos in Poland, as well as an aqua park and pool complex.

Stary Browar Shopping and Art Centre is an imaginative complex set in a converted 19th-century brewery. Attracting more than 40,000 visitors each day, the center features more than 200 shops, almost 30 restaurants and cafés, a theater, a concert hall, exhibition rooms, a cinema, a hotel and a park. Even if you’re not interested in shopping, this unusual complex is worth investigating.

Poznań Town Hall is a lovely Renaissance building, one of the finest in Poland. The hall now houses the Historical Museum of Poznań, which examines the city’s history from the 10th century to the present. Don’t miss the building’s set of mechanical goats, which famously butt their horns together at noon each day.

The Archcathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul, often known simply as Poznań Cathedral, is the oldest cathedral in Poland and the burial site of some of the country’s oldest rulers. Admire the valuable art and artifacts housed in the cathedral’s interior and venture into its crypt to see the remains of the early Romanesque building that once stood on the site.
