Trekking to Everest base camp
Tyangboche (aka Tengboche) village, Everest region, Nepal
After hours of long, uphill trekking, you finally arrive in a very small and remote village of Tyangboche. The large monastery sits proud and tall at your entrance, where you'll hear the monks chanting and spinning the prayers wheels. The rest of the village is composed of a few small, basic teahouses where you'll lodge for the night. The toilets may be cold and outside, but the views of Everest and surrounding mountains are so incredibly worth it.
