Things to do in Rolling Meadows

Locals and visitors come to Six Flags Great America to escape the heat during Milwaukee’s summer months. The theme park has almost 7 miles (11 kilometers) of roller coaster track alongside a host of other family attractions and entertainment set over a sprawling area close to the Wisconsin–Illinois state line.

Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan coastline stretches 495 miles (797 kilometers) from Kenosha, near Chicago, to Marinette, next to Upper Michigan. Establish a local base to settle in for a vacation or make a driving tour to numerous cities and villages.

Northwestern University, located outside the town of Evanston and just north of Chicago, is rooted in local history and features an array of attractions. Wander around the historic grounds of the university, enjoying the buzz of an active student population, before stopping by some of its venues and museums.

Fashion, food and fun converge at Woodfield Mall. With hundreds of stores and restaurants, Schaumburg’s super mall has something for everyone.

The Brookfield Zoo is spread out across more than 215 acres (87 hectares) in the suburb of Brookfield, 12 miles west of downtown Chicago. It has natural-looking habitats for a large and varied collection of animals, from grizzly bears to kangaroos, big cats and rare parrots. Come by car or public transport and plan to spend a morning (when the animals are most active) or the entire day.
