The seaside suburb of Bondi is often overshadowed by its near-mythical beach. There’s more to Bondi, however, than just its incredible stretch of sand. At Coogee Beach enjoy powdery sand and sparkling blue ocean year-round. This large beach has plenty of activities for everyone, whether you want to splash in the waves or just stroll along the oceanfront.

Bronte Beach is a fantastic recreational beach for all ages, in a convenient, central location. Appreciate the beach itself, a shining example of Sydney’s beaches, with inviting blue waters and golden sand. Behind the sand is a large grassy picnic area with barbecues and benches, which are free for anyone to use.

If you’re looking for a beach with gentle waves, Clovelly Beach is it. Because of the concrete slabs that line the channel, this beach is extremely sheltered and therefore great for swimming and splashing about with small children. The calm waters have led to an abundance of marine life, which draws many nature-loving locals.

Lovingly referred to as “the bra” by locals, Maroubra Beach was Australia’s second National Surfing Reserve, and for good reason. The name Maroubra is an aboriginal word that means “like thunder,” describing the sound of the waves as they crash against the rocks and shoreline. Come to Maroubra Beach if you’re a surfer. If you’re not, you can definitely still enjoy the waves.
