A old Hotel which requires some renovation badly. Room Furnitures and upholstery are dirty and fully stained. I would rate this as a budgeted hotel and not worth the rates being charged. The location is good and this is a plus. The staff are fine and friendly. Food is fine.
I reserved two rooms to accommodate my whole family. Unfortunately the bathrooms were in terrible condition in both rooms. The bath tub was dirty with all kinds of marks and stains. The towels they provided were very old, looked like rag clothes, and had holes in them. But they were freshly washed. I complained to the hotel staff about the condition of the bathrooms. They said it is because the building is old and the marks in the bath tub were made with cigarette buds by somebody and so they can't do anything. Although I asked for clean towels I didn't get any.

I chose this hotel because of it's location and fair tariff.I have stayed here before.Even though I arrived around 9.30 am,check in was smooth and friendly.I was upgraded to a suite. The room was OK.G H Road is a very busy
one way street and is a haphazard. The are very limited parking spaces. The staff are friendly and helpful. The computer in the business was not working when I tried to use it.

Hotel is close to shopping and food courts.
This hotel should not be considered as a 4star hotel. There was no hot water, and even some of the fixtures
are falling apart. They will not honor the contract you have with expedia, and you cant do anything because
you are far away from home. Only good thing about the hotel is the lobby looks good. They will not honor the
complimentary breakfast deal because they can get away with the utter nonsense.
An excellent hotel situated in the heart of trivandrum by the statue circle....awesome rooms...friendly and efficient staff....ould recommend this to all wanting to stay in downtown trivandrum.......only con is TV HAS TO BE CHANGED.....along with cable network..the only dissapointment....
the worse hotel ever! We were given a room between 2 big AC generators and we felt like we were sleeping next to an airplane engine. So lid we could not even hear the TV at max level sound. When complained to the manager he first lied by saying that the noise was coming form adjacent building so he had no control over therefore when i request him to come inside the room to prove him that the noise was from his hotel he stopped at halfway as the noise could be heard from the stairs already at ground level. Beside that we had to take a very cold shower the first evening as hot water was not working so they had to call maintenance and when answered the room phone in the morning i almost got elecrecuted and smoke and a terrible burning smell invaded all the room that i had to wait 1 hour outside the room for them to fix the problem. The worse part though is the manager who literally cared less and all he said is i apologize but did nothing beside lying to hdd the truth!
It's a very good hotel by Indian standards. The room was was fairly good, just a couple things let it down: the bath was badly chipped/marked and there was a constant load hum from air-conditioning or machine outside the window which made it hard to go to sleep.
poor customer service.Asking for documents which have never been asked by anyother hotels, airport and rail.We paid for hotel with views but thaey given a very hard time.Whatever you pay you dont get satisfaction.
Japanese "Type" Business Hotel in Central Location
Maurya initiated me on my first trip to India. Immediately it did remind me of the budget business hotels in Japan but of course slightly larger. Decor is basic. Bed and linen are satisfactory. I did wonder why I could never get the water hot enough on my own but housekeeping could. My room was windowless and faced the staff hallway I think as I could hear them. What I appreciate the most was housekeping's cleanliness. I ended up staying for 4 nights. I believe this is the most professional hotel within vicinity of secretariat and market. It's 2 kilometers of all sights I needed to see like Margi Theatre, where I was lucky enough to watch classical Indian theatre Kuttiyatam. Restaurant is sufficient. I did buffet once. At 200R it's a steal, with all the masala milk tea you want. When I didn't have buffet but ala carte, they gave me all the tea I wanted still. Resto crew are always smiling and very hospitable. Front desk are just as warm but could know more tourist friendly information. I'm sure now they can refer people to the Margi Theatre by the Fort High School. I took a map and a whole day to find it on foot. Special note regarding valet VJ Kumar, who is like the floor captain. Front desk changes but he's always there to help. Trivandrum is no Mumbai, so given the local average, Maurya is the place to be in TRV. I would stay there again, ESP because I did take the time to look at The other hotels in the area.
The hotel and the staff were great, very helpful and we even got a room upgrade!
Great views from the rooftop restaurant!

Brief stay !
Serviceminded and great staff ! Nothing was ever a problem and airportshuffle and such was always in time ! The room and bathroom was clean and in good condition. They cleaned as soon as I went out even though I only stayed for 1.5 days waiting for a flight. Some of the surfaces may need replacement and the gym next door was quite basic and no a.c. but ok . The view from the hotel wasnt that great but a short walk will take you to greater perspectives ;). Overall a good experience and a place recomended to stay ! Greetings from Sweden !

need to improve
All other hotels for lesser than these rate will give mineral water , coffee and tea maker, which is not available even in your suit room which disappoints us.Please provide these to attract future customers, also you room service boys are not up to the mark, while delivering food or coffee to the room your people are watching the television which we are watching and can't listening us what we are telling. Also provide lcd tv's on these room which will attract the customers.

Reasonably OK
The Ambience of Palm top restaurant is the best thing, besides staff's over eagerness to please the customer. Basic Infrastructure is pretty old & need serious revamping. Alleys of floors are pretty dark, mattresses of rooms sagging( at least mine's), toiletries pretty ordinary. All in all, not a hotel which you would choose on your next trip.
The room is furnished too much with unwanted furniture. The air conditioner was noisy but did very little cooling. The bathroom sink faucet was uncontrollable. However, we were pleased with the hot water situation. The complementary breakfast in the Penthouse was the best part of our tw0-day stay. It would help to add screen meshes to prevent birds and flies.
STAY AWAY, NOTHING LIKE IN PICTURES OR DESCRIPTION....DIRTY, SERVICE DREADFUL AND AWFUL LOCATION!!!!!

Unexpected niceness
After reading a lot of reviews on Trivandrum hotels, my husband and I chose to stay at this hotel for the first few days of our stay. By the reviews we were expecting a real budget-looking/feeling hotel, but we were really pleasantly surprised. Although one of the lamps was missing a shade, it was very clean. The room itself was fairly large with ample space for storage and the bed comfortable enough to sleep well. The service was really customer-oriented, which I've come to expect when traveling in India. The food in both the restaurant downstairs and the buffet on the roof were quite decent. The location is great--close to a lot of shops and restaurants. I recommend this hotel because for the low price tag, you really get a nice space and great service.
Pleasing in every respect except for poor upkeep of guest bedrooms. Our 3 night stay involved shifting rooms three times because of faults. Staff were of course very courteous and obliging, but inconvenience apart, it is disappointing that a 4 star hotel should be so casual about poorly maintained amenities. It is beyond our comprehension how a room can be allocated to guests wherein bath and shower controls were inoperable and faulty.
This hotel offers a very professional service. Staff at Reception were helpful with reconfirming flights and I was upgraded as I arrived on my birthday. It turns out that my daughter had discussions with the hotel about providing me with a birthday cake and thought that this had been arranged, but nothing materialised. She was quite disappointed as she had gone to some trouble over this. Apart from this, I enjoyed my stay.

Aging hotel in city centre location-staff and service good
Other than location which is close to airport and train station, not much else going on for the hotel. (1) Rooms have a terrible odor. (2) Temperature control is centralized (there is a control in the room but it was confirmed by reception that it doesn't work), so got way too hot. (3) The night we stayed there, there was an event going on in their 5th floor restaurant and the music was super-loud until about 10:30pm (it even drowned out the TV in our room which was on full volume). (4) Restaurant downstairs not terrible but not too great. (5) Front-desk staff lousy. (6) Charged us an incremental amount in addition to agreed upon rate on our reservation confirmation b/c we wanted king-size bed. (7) Took them about 30mins to check us out.. and that was at 6:30am, when there was no one else checking out. Almost missed our flight. (8) When asked for a restaurant recommendation, they couldn't name a single one other than their own. (9) Bathtub was filthy dirty. Avoid.
