“We have just returned home after a 2 week stay at Milford House which we highly recommend. The house is clean, spacious and comfortable and everything we could have possibly needed was provided, including a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The house is in a convenient location, only a minute or two's walk from the centre of the village. A particular highlight was the bedroom in the roof and the sounds of the sheep and cows in the fields nearby! We enjoyed staying in Tideswell……

“This was our second stay at Butterfield Cottage - two wonderful weeks at this cosy, comfortable, immaculate cottage. The owner, Jan, was so kind, accommodating and quick to respond allowing us early check in after an overnight flight and late check out as well.The cottage has everything you could ask for - comfortable beds, two bathrooms, well appointed kitchen and cosy living and dining space. The weather was outstanding so we made great use of the front terrace as well as the rear garden. ……

“Rundherum perfekt! Großzügiges Cottage, heimelige Atmosphäre, wunderschöne Einrichtung, super Ausstattung, sehr sauber. Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter hervorragend. Sehr günstig gelegen für Ausflüge und Wanderungen, mehrere Pubs/Restaurants und kleiner Supermarkt im Ort - es fehlt an nichts!!! Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!”

“Acer Cottage is ideally situated for exploring the area. Tideswell is peaceful yet very well served with essential services. It was a treat to find the Merchant’s Yard just steps away and the bakery was great too. The cottage itself was equipped and furnished to a high level and communication before arrival was excellent. ”

“Unfortunately this property did not live up to the 10/10 Exceptional reviews. Upon arrival we were greeted by dead flowers outside and a dirty front door with a musty smelling entrance porch. Huge cobwebs in the lounge had been there months. There was mould in the corner of the dining room. The main bedroom had suffered a leak in the ceiling which had happened sometime ago and just been left. The whole property looked unloved and somewhat neglected. “We stayed for 2 nights as a base for visiting Chatsworth House. The house is beautiful and had everything you need and more. Will be booking again!”

“The house was absolutely perfect, lots of space for everyone, including the dogs. My only complaint was tge lack of cooking pots and serving plates, plus there was no plates/cups etc for small children when there was a cot and stair gate so i would expext those extras.”

“Tideswell is a magnificent village in the heart of The Peak District, with 3 central pubs and an abundance of good countryside walking within easy reach (we covered 26 miles over 2 days). Amber Villa is ideally located in the village centre, and it is clean, spacious, tastefully furnished & decorated ... a definite 5-star review.”
