The Black Forest house(German: Schwarzwaldhaus) is a byre-dwelling that is found mainly in the central and southern parts of the Black Forest in southwestern Germany. It is characterised externally by a long hipped or half-hipped roof that descends to the height of the ground floor. This type of dwelling is suited to the conditions of the Black Forest: hillside locations, broad tracks, high levels of snowfall and heavy wind loading. Individual farms, such as the Hierahofnear Kappel, which are still worked today, are over 400 years old. The Black Forest house is described by Dickinson as very characteristic of the Swabian farmstead type.

"At check-in, staff seemed a bit surprised or confused with our arrival, but we were shown into our room without difficulty. A big disappointment was the impact that a wedding party in the hotel had on our sleep. At 4am(!) the music was still keeping us (and other guests) awake. Another flaw was the yeasting cut fruit at breakfast, that we had to make staff aware of. These should be one-off incidents, but obviously they influenced our experience. The room was good. "

Als ich auf die Nummer anrief hat der Herr am Telefon nur gesagt, dass wir die Strasse hinauffahren mussten und einfach der Strasse entlang, nicht in wlches Haus oder Restaurant.. "I was a bit disappointed with this hotel. I don’t think it was as good as other Premier Inns I’ve stayed in. The room wasn’t terribly comfortable, the sofa bed we needed definitely wasn’t. The shower was poor and while I understand that you don’t need the room cleaning everyday it’s no fun waiting at reception to ask for more loo roll! I am sorry to write a less than positive review but this hotel was not a great part of our holiday - but the lovely city made it worth it. "
