We love its charm and cozy atmosphere. It is clean and well maintained, not the most spacious but we're not in town to stay in the room. The beds are comfy, the room was warm and toasty for our Thanksgiving visit. The staff is always polite and helpful. The breakfast they offer is light on sugar and junk food, a refreshing switch from the typical offerings at other hotels. The grounds and common areas are warm and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. But probably the best part was the owner, Mark. He was available, attentive and personable. He even surprised me with non-gluten options at breakfast after I asked him about GF restaurant options for dinner in Kent the night before. Neither WiFi network worked and cell service was terrible in the area. Shower pressure was way too high. The staff was excellent and always ready to be of help. However, there were two problems: in the entryway between the buffet breakfast area and the sign-in area I fell on the raised area of the floor (I was not hurt). We asked that the area be marked, and it was immediately, But perhaps something more permanent should be done to prevent any further falls. Secondly, the stairs up to Lodge 7 were very difficult to navigate.
