Very small, quaint and walking distance from most Rome attractions like Colosseum, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, shopping, multiple basilicas and train station. By walking I mean 5-15 min walk tops. Surrounded by many small and very good trattorias that open very early in the morning and stay open until late at night. Very safe too.

Let’s be honest, Luxury in Italy doesn’t necessarily mean the same as it does in the US. This is a top price hotel near the airport but the room is small (the bathroom by scale is large). Lots of upcharges and not many options for food or drinks. Breakfast was expensive but a nice buffet. The thing everyone complains about regarding everyone in white robes was true (and cultish!). There are lot’s of non-hotel guests on the property to use the spas. We didn’t use the spas as we were only staying to fly out the next day. Getting there from airport is onerous - a 25 Euro taxi (1.8 mile trip) or an 8 Euro shuttle (per person), but no help in arranging. If you call the hotel they’ll make you call the shuttle yourself from the airport (and yet they can make the return reservation for you). I think what separates true luxury is “service” and this place does not bend over backwards for guests. Staff seems small and not concerned with the “details” that make true luxury. 4-star at best.

"Not really up to the Best Western Brand standards we are used to. But perhaps Italian standards or less. Rooms were very small. Bathroom was very small even based on other European standards. Shuttle from the airport stopped at 10:30. We arrived at 10:40 so had to figure out local vs non-local taxi ..."
