Walpole Vacations from $848

At $800 for one night i was expecting a lot better. The hotel is well worn and showing age. The gym was small, treadmill get breaking. No water in the room. Very basic hotel. The staff in fairness were excellent. For this kind of money i shall be staying across the road at the Pan Pacific in future.

Seen better days. Good location, not the place to stay if you want a quiet relaxing hotel. Everything was a bit shabby. The rooms were noisy, it sounded like you could hear every door open and close. Rooms face the pool and you’re at the mercy of other parents when it comes to how many hours they will let their kids scream around the pool area (and in our case it was many).

Excellent location with stylish rooms and very friendly staff. We’d arrived after 2am straight from the airport and the staff on duty was so helpful and welcoming. Room was nice with a very comfortable bed.

I cannot recommend the Duxton Hotel more highly. Of particular mention is the service, from the cleaning staff and especially the restaurants. The location was ideal for us. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and a few of the dishes were different every day, ensuring a bit of variety. We loved the Duxton and look forward to returning.

Very nice and comfortable hotel right in the centre of town. We appreciated the location - <15 minutes walk to all of the sights and the piers. The room was large and we sat on the terrace in the sunshine several times. Breakfast was simple but sufficient and the complimentary cheese and wine/beer I'm the evenings was a nice touch and a way to get to meet fellow travellers. It was very useful to have access to a washing machine and dryer as well.
