The day of our trip a winter storm had already been brewing and all highways/ freeways were closed. Steve was very accommodating to us and allowed for a later check out time since we arrived so late ok the day of check in. The home was very clean. Hot tub was lovely to use. And the kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, measuring cup, and cookware. But during out stay the roof started leaking and water was coming in the ceiling onto the floor and the bed in the master. This happened on the first night of our 4 night stay. We contacted the property management company, sent photos, and placed the bowls in the floor like they asked. They said they would send someone out immediately, this person came two days laters on our last day. We loved that it felt a little more remote than the other houses that we have stayed at in Tahoe Donner. The house had amazing views of the mountains from the back deck. My only complaint that I have is the house got a little hot during the day. Although, I can't fault the owners, we were in Truckee during an usually hot period. The owners did have fans in all the rooms, so that helped with the heat. The house was very comforable and had all things we needed. Thank you! The backyard has a nice and open space for the kids to sled. The only hiccup we had was the oven, it didn’t heat above 180 degrees so it was hard to cook out planned dinner. We went during a historic snow storm. We noticed this location gets the most snow in the Truckee area and the least frequent snow plowing because the street is at the end-of-the-line. We shoveled 10 inches of snow 4 times over 2 days just to get in/out of the driveway. Amazing views. Loved the trail system nearby for trail running & mountain biking. House had a fair amount of dog hair on furniture & carpets for a “no pet” home. Manager offered to send cleaning crew but we didn’t bother. Would be an issue for those with allergies tho. The week that we stayed, the air quality was actually pretty bad due to the wildfires. We were limited to how much we could go outside so we all appreciated the fact that the house was spacious, clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and close to downtown Truckee (great shopping and restaurants)! Lots of open space, room for all to eat plays games etc. Best equipped kitchen I ever experienced, they had everything. Great view, when the smoke cleared out. It is a little bit out of the way if your planning to go to Lake Tahoe for things, but manageable. Home did not have enough paper sundries ( garbage bags,tp, paper towels ) for this price point I expected that.
