While Umac offers a distinct coastal experience, two neighborhoods in Split that share a similar appeal for travelers seeking quality and convenience, particularly for couples and families, are Bacvice and Radunica.

Bacvice is renowned for its sandy beach, one of the few in Split, and its proximity to the city center. It's an excellent choice for families due to the shallow waters and playful beach activities. You'll find a relaxed atmosphere with beachside cafes and restaurants, all within a short walk of Split's main ferry port and the historic Diocletian's Palace.

Radunica, on the other hand, provides a more traditional, residential feel with its narrow, winding streets and stone houses, reminiscent of Split's older character. It's a quieter neighborhood tucked just behind the bustling Riva promenade.

The best time to go to Umac, Split, Croatia, is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with temperatures ranging from the high 60s to high 70s Fahrenheit, making it ideal for exploring the city's historical sites without the intense summer heat. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at popular attractions like Diocletian's Palace and the Riva promenade.

For travelers looking for a quieter experience, May and September are particularly appealing. The sea is warm enough for swimming, and you can enjoy outdoor dining and local events without the bustling crowds of mid-summer. This period is also great for couples seeking a romantic getaway, as the city offers a more intimate setting.

If you're interested in water activities and don't mind slightly more activity, early June and early October are good options. The weather is still very agreeable, and while there might be a few more visitors, it's still far less crowded than July and August.
