"Reception staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we arrived and helped us with our bags. The room was quite big and had a side sea view and it was lovely sleeping with the window open, listening to the sea. The room was very hot but better on second night as we'd left the window open all day. The room and bedding were clean. Room decor was very plain, could have done with a few pictures.
As other reviews have said, hot water took a while to come through and even then, was fine for me but my husband prefers a hotter shower. Also, the water didn't drain away quickly enough.
No food or bar available but we knew this beforehand. There are plenty of choices of cages, pubs and restaurants within 5-10 minites walk for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It was excellent value for money bit bear in mind, the low price reflects the fact that decor could do with an overhaul. At this price though, we would definitely consider staying again."
"Super dog friendly
Room full of character and a very generous size
Spotlessly clean
Staff welcoming
In a great location for visits to Bude and Westward Ho"
"On our arrival, we were greeted warmly by the receptionist who informed us we had been upgraded for our one-night stay. This was a lovely surprise and the room was fabulous. The bed was huge and very comfortable. We felt so relaxed and didn’t leave the hotel.
We booked in for a meal which was fantastic. It was a busy evening as there was a party but it didn’t impact on our evening. The service was excellent and staff were attentive and accommodating but not overbearing.
The next morning we enjoyed a great breakfast with various choices - full English for us, as always. Probably the only criticism I could make was that the coffee could have been hotter.
We will definitely return and are already booked in for a night in December when visiting family again."
"Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, they really are an asset to the hotel. Overall, the room was nice and clean. The hotel more generally wouldn’t go amiss from a "
