Good value stay. Spacious twin room. Londis shop very nearby to buy coffee and breakfast and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Loved the hotel lounge but it was a bit too warm for us to sit there too long. We hadn't pre-booked parking at the hotel but managed to find free parking nearby for the 3 nights we stayed. Funicular virtually next door. Lovely old hotel, clean and full of character though indeed of a little tlc. We were made very welcome and our rooms were upgraded at no extra cost with amazing views across the valley. Very dog friendly and would definitely stay there again. Its Victorian features hark back to it's time as a premium hotel and today it is adequate for a stay in the beautiful part of the country. You are paying the price of a hostel but you have your own room, a decent bathroom and tea making facilities. The hotel has seen better days, and if you want something swanky pay another £100 per night.
