Very nice room with sea view, unfortunately very steep stairs to get there and as suffering mobility issues, not the best, although staff were not aware. Breakfast excellent, and evening meal for 7 highly commented on favourably, hot plates and food. Unfortunately a bout of food poisoning occurred overnight, although the source cannot be confirmed but suspected. Would recommend and stay again. Chair to be placed in room in September after renovations will be a bonus.

A lovely find hidden away off the main street. We only booked the room an hour before arriving but were made to feel very welcome by the young lady behind the bar. Breakfast was cooked by Phil and was delicious and he came out and had a lovely chat with us. I would highly recommend.

Staff , reception and welcome along with a comfortable room and en-suite excellent. Our disappointment was that it was a little too far away from Appledore for us . We believed we could walk to Appledore in 15 minutes . Yes , if the tide is in and you catch the ferry. Our hearts sank on arrival as the whole frontage of the inn had scaffolding giving the impression the inn was closed completely. Our agent didn’t warn us of this … In the end we enjoyed our time at the wayfarer inn.

Shower was great (if small) and the homemade shortbread was a nice little touch my son enjoyed as part of his breakfast. The breakfasts were also really good. They were very flexible on items on the full English and the ingredients were good quality with proper sausages, thick bacon and thick slices of good bread. The two women working there were great and the service was excellent though. They told another guest they only took it on last year and are doing it up but they need to either do it up faster or not rent out rooms that are in such a state. Like others that stayed in the top floor room have commented though, it was in very poor repair - damp/mould around the bedroom and in the bathroom, large area of paint flaking off the ceiling above the bed, scaffolding on the front of the building blocked the view and allowed anyone to climb up into the room from the street, one light above the bed didn't work and there's no WiFi signal in that room, the bar area windows were covered in blue bottles.
