So convenient for us since we were paddling the Current River. Loved the old-time charm but with update amenities. Safe and walkable area.

Room is in poor shape, rusty nails backing out of baseboards close enough to the bed that you can scrape your ankle/leg on them. Bed sits so high you have to have the steps provided, which are a trip/fall hazard in the middle of the night and my husband hit his foot on the legs of the bed several times during the night - they stick out past the bed. Bed is WAY too soft. Nowhere to hang clothes up and no iron/board. Toilet is so close to the tub that your legs are about an inch from touching the tub. ABSOLUTELY NO HOT WATER OR WATER PRESSURE. When I say no water pressure, I mean barely enough to rinse our tooth brushes, much less enough pressure to take a COLD shower. Our neighbor had the same complaints when they checked out this morning as well. The office was closed when we checked out around 6:15 am, so no coffee at all since the coffee shop is closed for the season and nobody to report issues to upon checkout. We will NOT be staying here again.

Room was clean and couldn’t hear anyone partying outside even tho they were.I liked it and would have done a straight 5 star on all except for there wasn’t a closet to hang clothes and the bed was too high. It was a good bed just too high for me and I’m 5’7”.

The mattresses were fabulous. Clean rooms and friendly staff. We will stay here again. The antique store and restaurants are walking distance. Nice family friendly establishment!

This motel is vintage and its so clean and updated and comfortable beds. The pool was nice it didn’t close as long as you did disturb guest. I have stayed several times in the past. Annual birthday's current river float trip.

Old style motel with improvements

First and foremost, this is an old, restored motor hotel. The owners have done a great job, but this is not a Hilton. (BTW, owners/managers were very nice). Rooms are very small. My room had two double beds, one chair and no table. Bathroom was tiny, but efficient. Good shower. Comfortable bed. They had a very nice outdoor pool which was being utilized when I arrived. The only complaints I have were the curtain in the room and the noise. The curtain was not good in filtering out light (and I'm not sure if people could see in the room or not). Being an old hotel, outside noise does filter in. I slept soundly, so it did not bother me. Apparently this is a destination spot (river access nearby). All in all, it was an enjoyable stay and I would book again if back in the area.

Great room!

The hotel was a cozy little 24 room hotel. The rooms were super clean and temperature was great. The bed could have used a little help but I've stayed in nicer hotels with horrible beds. There was a cute little coffee shop on the property with the best coffee I've had. Will definitely be returning in the future.

If you have a bad back, do not stay here. In my room the tub was lifted (there was a step to get in it). So if you are over 5’ tall you will not be able to wash your hair unless you do a back bend or bend over 45 degrees. Not sure what kind of bugs they are but I killed three. The bathroom wall by the toilet had a large hole in it.

The motel was very clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. And while we did not use the pool it looked very well maintained and clean. The TV in the room was fine, had a great picture. However, it is an old 60's style motel that has been somewhat updated. It has a window unit air conditioner that did cool the room just fine. A comfortable chair to sit on in the room would have been nice as well as a small shelf or something in the bathroom to put your toiletries on. The main negative and the reason why we would not stay here again was the bed. Someone had commented on one of the reviews that it was like sleeping on box springs and that pretty well describes it. When you sat down you actually bounced. The bedding was fine and the pillows were comfortable but not the bed. Maybe it was just our room. In conclusion it is fine for a night or two but if you're staying longer look somewhere else.
