The worst part of the hotel was the location. Our taxi driver said that we needed to be careful in the area and that even he was robbed in this location. The hotel itself was fine enough. The bed was firm, which I enjoyed, but my friend said her bed was way too hard. Our room was supposed to be the same, but the layout was different. I had no closet or area to hang my clothes. We were staying for a week, so no ability to hang clothes was very inconvenient. My sink was in the room with the bed, but I did have a separate shower and a separate toilet area. My friend had a built in cabinet that allowed her to hang clothes, so that was nice, but she had room for the shower, sink, and toilet…that was interesting. At one point the front door wasn’t working, so we had to wait outside. We were already concerned about the area, so the wait outside was not helpful. When we finally got inside, there was maintenance working on the ceiling in the middle of the lobby. If you’re okay with the area, and want a nice little quaint hotel, this is fine. We were looking for something a little more luxurious…this is not that.

The staff was great! The room was quite small. We registered for a queen bed but received 2 small double beds pushed together, which is not the same as a queen bed. The bathroom was good size. The best part was the balcony! Absolutely spectacular! The views were incredible.

Casa Lit Barcelona is located close to the port. It provides clean comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. I noticed some street people in the area, but was never bothered by them. A very good breakfast is available at the hotel. I was pleased with my stay at Casa Lit and recommend it to other travelers.

The young man who worked the front desk. He was super friendly and made helpful suggestions. It turns out he is Nicaraguan and that made me feel especially happy because I am a big fan of anyone from Central America!
