Ultra High Speed Internet - Desk/Work Space

Of the 26 charming duplex cottages in the gated Mokuleia Beach Colony, only five actually face the ocean; and this is one of them! You’ll wake to the sound of waves, sit on your open lanai and see nothing but aquamarine water and morning sky. The ocean is right there in front of you, just a few steps away. This beach bungalow was designed in the 1960s and has been decorated by a Hawaiian-born artist, whose paintings of the Mokuleia ocean, sky and landscape hang on the walls.

- The Beach - The Sand Dollar Cottage offers a stunning view of a beach that stretches for miles in either direction; ideal for swimming, walking and snorkeling in the coral reef. You rarely see anyone and have warm water, day and night!

- The Neighborhood - A twelve minute drive down a country road will take you to the famous surfing town of Haleiwa; where you can dine in one of the many restaurants and shop for clothes, local art, shave ice and fresh fish, steaks and produce. The Colony has a beautiful guest-only pool and five minutes up the road towards Ka’ena Point, there’s kite surfing and skydiving.

Smoking strictly prohibited at Mokuleia Beach Colonies, both indoors and outdoors and pets are not permitted on the property. Service animals are permitted only with prior approval of the Mokuleia Beach Colony board. The State of Hawaii prohibits smoking in public parks and at all beaches. There are no areas near the unit designated for smokers. These bans include e - cigarettes.

Wonderful view of the ocean, but the unit itself is very outdated. The shower leaks all over the floor. The grounds are well kept, but again dates.

North Shore getaway

Had a wonderful time while staying at this property that we had to book last minute due to our other vrbo canceling at the last minute( due to a law being past not by fault) . It was convenient to grocery shopping and also secluded. Had a great time. Easy check in and check out. Friendly neighbors.

Wonderful view

All the amenities are provided. Gated community. No additional parking fees. Outdoor shower was a surprise. Geckos live behind the pictures on the walls.

Amazing!

Cottage was PERFECT! Location is great if you want a peaceful vacation. 10-15 minute drive into Haleiwa. The pool was a nice change from the ocean, everyone on the property was kind. Very low key. You are literally ON the water, at low tide you can walk the beach right out front. We would go down the steps and walk a few minutes to the left where the water was clear and swim. Lots of turtles right outside. Beach chairs & the bbq were used often! We will definitely come back to this location!!

The community was beautiful done, being gated made us feel even more secure during our stay. The unit we has is right on the beach and we couldn't have asked for better. We wanted to relax and this was the perfect.place to stay and relax. We had access to the pool but the ocean was what called us. If I could I would buy this unit, that's how much we loved it. Having the constant breeze was amazing. The unit itself was ocean front and well done. We would recommend upgrading the ceiling fan but it worked well, my son just gets overheated easily. All in all we didn't want to leave.

Close to everything on the Northshore. Being a bit older we did not sleep well at all, The beds and heat inside the unit kept us uncomfortable . Can use another fan or two. Furniture very uncomfortable too. I’m sure the younger set would do fine.Staying the middle of the summer just too hot.

This was our second stay here at this magical cottage. The oceanfront location is amazing, the grounds are immaculate, the pool is refreshing, the proximity to Haleiwa and Wahiawa is so convenient. The peace and quiet is so relaxing. A touch of old Hawaii. Simply enchanting.

Beautiful and perfect!

I’ve been coming to Hawai’i for 40 years (about 15 trips). This was my favorite stay. The property was outstanding, the community was lovely and the location was perfect. The cottage was even better and more roomy than in the photos and exceeded my already high expectations. It was terrific and I highly recommend it!

Wonderful spot

We stayed for a week in April 2025. Peaceful spot where you can relax to the sound of ocean waves. Cottage is in a wonderful small gated community near the end of the Farrington Hwy. Beautiful nearly empty beaches near by. We did an oceanfront trail ride on horses right next door. Great place if you are looking for something more low key than staying in Waikiki

Beach at the doorstep

Whilst the property is aging a little, it is perfect for those who wish to get away to a peaceful and quiet location but still enjoy the sight and sounds of the ocean.The property has everything you need and we absolutely loved it!

Vacation get away

The property was very nice and all the people are friendly. Very quiet as well. The unit is right on the water so you get to sit and watch the ocean all day. It was perfect for us.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Always enjoy staying at MBC. The Sand Dollar lanai is my favorite place to hang out and enjoy the trade winds and ocean view. It's sad that there is no more beach access because of the water level and the neighboring homes being threatened to wash away. Hope the State can figure out what to do so that the water doesn't get under the seawalls. Just something to be aware of if you want beach access, you will have to drive down the road.

Hawaiian Paradise

Beautiful location! Can't beat the view. Comfortable furnishings. Everything we needed was right there in the cottage. We loved being able to sit on the patio and just take in the sunrise and sunset and everything in between.
