April 2013 Rainbow over the Forest. Ashdown Forest is at the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and It covers 6500 acres of land. It also has national and international protection due to the extent of its wildlife. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.
The Cuckmere Valley near Seaford in East Sussex is a great place to walk. Have lunch at the Golden Galleon pub, then walk it off following the meander of the River Cuckmere all the way to the sea. Take in the view of the White Horse made out of chalk along with the many species of wildlife and plants along the way.
