The room was excellent, bed was so comfortable that we slept in on our 1st night, leaving only 1 and a half hours to get ready for a wedding we were going to. The bathroom was lovely, a large shower with rainfall head. Very deep bath that we used on 2nd day. A great menu and restaurants to choose from. The bar was so welcoming with a great whiskey selection for myself and cocktail selection my partner loved. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our stay Matfen Hall was excellent and I highly recommend. We didn’t use the spa facilities this time but definitely will on our return. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay a pleasure

Room was very clean, bed was big and comfy. View of the river and bridges a bonus. Free mini bar in room with water and soft drinks plentiful for night and morning. Breakfast was the best hotel selection and qaulity i have had in a hotel in england and breakfast/brunch is my favourite food

Drove in to the arch Was met bye Josh at the door , amazing lad took my car also our bags checked us in our luggage was took to rooms as we had to go straight away and walk up to the stadium to watch Newcastle ! Hotel is amazing would recommend it to everyone and it’s definitely 5 stars
