The Service in the restaurants (there are only 2 open in the winter) is unbelievably slow and inefficient. The food is excellent. A great place to go if the wether is nice.

The room was clean, bathroom tiny, couldn't fill the jug in the bathroom basin. My room was downstairs and the guests in the room above, you could hear walking around and ceiling creaked every time they moved around.

Room was one of the cabins. Basically a metal box that a room was made of. No closet. No place to hang anything up. Heater small for room and took a while to heat the space. The hotel is in a great location. Walkable to many restaurants.

Did the Tongariro Alpine Crossing the hotel arranged pick up and drop off. It was a stunningly beautiful hike and wonderful to come back to such relaxing accommodations.

If you are fit, we did the Tongariro Crossing, 19.4 km or 12.5 miles, 3,000 ft vertical up & 4,500 ft down. Plan on 6-7 hours to do the trek. It’s incredible!!! The hotel assisted with transportation to the trailhead & pick-up return back to the hote
