9/10 Wonderful! (1,018 reviews)
Help with the luggage and valet parking was available, which is unusual for most hotels these days. They even cleaned the car windows before delivering the car for our onward journey. Check-in was a little slow, as only one person was handling several customers at a desk for club members. There was no one at the front desk, but a few minutes later, another staff member showed up and helped a customer at the front desk. When we got to the room, our luggage had already been delivered. We booked a table at Mantles, the hotel restaurant. It was not busy, but there were numerous wait staff members to help. The kitchen was slow, probably because there were not enough chefs. The menu was a little limited. My wife asked for a half portion of salad as she is always worried about overly generous portion sizes. The waitress checked with the chef and was told they could not accommodate the request. Seriously? My choice of grilled wild salmon, however, turned out to be a good one. They did not serve bread, and we had to ask for bread rolls. They only had focaccia, which was a bit too salty.
For the price we paid for the room, I had expected a more upscale hotel, so that was a disappointment.
