Charming and historic downtown Winters location, was a perfect overnight stay for our road trip. The room was very spacious, was nice to be offered a glass of wine at our check-in. Staff was friendly and helpful.

First there is no staff on site. The key system works by texting someone for code to lockbox. The room had a temp air conditioner that was impossibly loud. Couldn’t sleep with it running. The main door was constantly left open for anyone to wonder in off the street. The cold water in the restroom sink didn’t work so hot water it is for brushing teeth.

This Home2 by Hilton hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Sutter Health Ballpark in West Sacramento, which is why we chose to stay there. The property was clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the swimming pool was clean and enjoyable. The only negative surprise was having to pay $16.50 per night to park our car in what seemed to be an unsecured parking lot. That added fee should be made more prominent on the hotel’s listing. We had a great stay, enjoyed two MLB baseball games and would definitely return again.

The bathroom floor was not clean and had stuff on the floor that should have been cleaned. The hallways smelled like garbage. Many guests left their leftovers or throw out food in the hallways. It had a terrible odor. I went to the gym one morning and instead of towels to use they little tiny wash clothes, 6 by 6 inches, I would have needed 10 of them to cover the workout bench. In summary the hotel was smelly and dirty. It would be hard for me to stay there again. Also, the breakfast looked very unappetizing. Very disappointed.
