Where to stay

Detroit's Canadian neighbor is an unusual place. It's the only major city in Canada located directly south of a continental U.S. city. Some see Windsor as a border crossing and little more. However, the city has many interesting things to do. If visitors skip Windsor's residential neighborhoods and head straight to the casinos, they miss out on some of Canada's best Italian restaurants as well as the city's regenerated waterfront, where looking across the Detroit River offers great views. Hotels here are mostly functional but attractive, designed for those passing through on short stays.
