Find hotels in Xinyuan from $31

The best area to stay in Xinyuan is generally near the coast, particularly around Donggang Township, which offers the most amenities and convenient access to attractions.

Donggang is the main hub for visitors to the area, known for its busy fishing port and the famous Donggang Fish Market. You'll find a concentration of restaurants, shops, and guesthouses here. It's also the primary departure point for ferries to Xiaoliuqiu Island. Couples and families will appreciate the easy access to fresh seafood and the lively option, especially during market hours.

For those seeking a quieter experience, staying slightly inland from Donggang, closer to the agricultural areas, can offer a more relaxed setting. While these areas have fewer dining options, they provide a peaceful base for exploring the Pingtung countryside and are still a short drive from Donggang's main attractions.

The best time to visit Xinyuan is during the dry season, from October to April, when the weather is generally pleasant and sunny.

During these months, you'll experience mild temperatures and lower humidity, making it ideal for exploring the area's natural beauty and outdoor activities. This period avoids the heavy rains and potential typhoons that can occur from May to September.
