Very comfortable accommodation. Loved the mini fridge in my room. Brilliant breakfast and tasty bar food. Drawing room nice for a drink and relaxation. Surrounding area stunning, particularly heading west along the River Dee. Well equipped gym, better than most hotels. Great, old-style sauna- the type you get to add water too. Not very common these days, unfortunately. Jacuzzi not hot and swimming pool always seemed to have Swimming lessons on which was annoying.

The property is gorgeous and food was good. When we got to our room there was no toilet paper, tissues, or soap and the front desk staff said they'd send some up ASAP, but we still didn't have any after we went downstairs for dinner and drinks. After we called again, someone brought us toilet paper. The room also could have used a fan as it got pretty warm at night.

The Ardoe is technically a lovely place. But it is massive and rather dark and has an oppressive feel. With a couple of significant exceptions, the staff weren’t particularly friendly. And management not particularly accommodating. I had no British pounds and needed a bit of cash for gratuities. They would not provide any cash off my VISA saying they do not ‘offer this service’. If an establishment takes VISA, this is not a difficult concept and I have done it in the wilds of Africa. You’d think a Scottish hotel could manage it. A car is essential and unfortunately I didn’t rent one at the airport. There is nowhere to go for a stroll. Although the property is very large, there were no walking paths and the road the hotel is on is narrow with very fast moving traffic. So it is very isolating unless you have the car. A night or two here would be a nice enough change from a city hotel, but I wouldn’t go beyond that.

My friend and I stayed at the Ardoe house for one night. We booked an Executive double, King bed and stayed on a Thursday night in June. The hotel overall was pretty quite, the outside grounds were beautiful. Our bed was very firm, but also expected anywhere outside of the US. We made a table reservation at the restaurant, and were the only ones there. Food was ok, if you have the means to get back into town there are likely better options. Hotel guests get access to some of the spa amentities, the dry sauna was great and hot! The steam sauna wasn't very warm and smelled a bit funky. The hot tub and pool were pretty much the same temperature, not nearly as relaxing as I thought it would be. The evening receptionist was not very pleasant, argued with me about prepaying for the room and charged my card the full room fee. Fortunately the daytime staff, who were much more friendly, caught the error and happily issued a refund for the extra charge. Our bartender, Ola, was such a delight, definitely pop in and have a cocktail. I would recommend Ardoe House to someone looking for an affordable castle stay, but I personally would not go back.

The grounds and the staff were great. The bed was super comfortable and the room appeared to be as well. That is, until it I learned that there was no aircon and they did not have fans. This left me with the option to open the windows the tiny bit they can be opened to cool the room. Unfortunately, this meant a million bugs since there is no netting on the windows. I ultimately had to close the windows, kill as many bugs as I could, and then spend the night alternating between slapping bugs off myself and melting under covers.

Attended a wedding at ardoe house also spent the night, the facilities are clean, the rooms are big, clean with a firm comfy bed, only bad part about the wedding was the price of drinks most people attending the wedding also complained about the prices. breakfast was great, staff were friendly and eager to help out guests. abit out of the way from aberdeen

Ardoe house is a well kept old building, in its own private very quiet grounds, just outside of Aberdeen, along the river Dee. The room was comfortable, well lit, spacious and I slept well, the toilet and walk in shower was good. Some constructive feedback, the net curtains need replacing, they had small holes and look old fashioned, the hotel bar had radio one playing on TV, I’d expect the TV to show some sports coverage, rather than rave music.

As always really good....first visit to their new"Priviledge" room.....only negative was white silicon sealant missing at floor level underneath the bathroom sink with what looked like black mold showing...it didn't detract from an overall enjoyable stay

The hotel is gorgeous and the grounds are peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed visiting the highland cows in the pasture. The photographs in the hotel were artsy and unique, taken of the hotel and animals. What a personal touch! We tried the on site restaurant, but enjoyed other local ones nearby better for lower costs. The beds were comfortable and we thought our stay was great for a reasonable price. Thank you!

My Fave Hotel
Was a shame the jacuzzi was too high on chlorine the 2nd & 3rd day as we only got 1 shot on our arrival day. Sausages at breakfast were really bad so i think you need to change brand. Apart from this, its my favourite hotel to go & relax especially as i had been ill before ny trip & was in recovery.

Comfy place to stay.
The rooms are well appointed, clean, spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms are similarly well appointed. Tea and coffee facilities and a small fridge in each room. Plenty of parking. Never had the opportunity to use the spa so can’t comment on that. Sad to say the last two stays the breakfast left a lot to be improved upon which I have fed back to the staff so it’s not keyboard warrior time. Will stay again but go elsewhere for breakfast.
