(331 reviews) I stayed at Maverick Apartments Budapest recently and had a decent overall experience. The room itself was okay — not amazing, but not bad either. The building is clearly quite old and historic, which gives it character, but it also explains why the rooms probably aren’t heavily renovated. Because of that, some things felt a bit worn. The washroom had a strong smell, and the toilet flush button was broken during my stay. I assume these issues come with maintaining an older property, though they were still noticeable. On the positive side, the location is excellent — you’re basically close to everything, which makes exploring the city very convenient. The staff were also friendly and welcoming, which definitely improved the stay. Overall, it’s a reasonable place if you mainly want a great location and don’t mind a few imperfections in the room. (371 reviews) This is a beautiful hotel in a former imperial palace, close to the parliament building and river. It's a quiet, genteel area, within walking distance of the city centre, but away from noise and traffic. There's a metro station and tram stop very close by so it's easy to get around the city. We had first-floor rooms, which were large and really beautifully decorated. The bathroom had a separate dressing area and dressing table so there's lots of space. Slippers are provided, alongside all the usual room amenities. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice, including Hungarian specialities. We didn't eat in the bar, but did have a drink there. It's a big room and a little soulless, but that's not unusual for a hotel bar and it did the job! We'd definitely stay here again.
