Beautiful Riverside Getaway

We are happy to have opened our home back up for your enjoyment and will continue to adjust our policies as needed to assure the best experience for you, our guest. Due to a shortage of employees, from time to time we may need to remove our instant booking option so that we can guarantee availability of cleaning staff between our reservations. Thank you for your patience during the reservation process and for your continued support. We look forward to hosting you.

This beautiful 2BR/3BA home has an open floor plan and full service kitchen which makes it perfect for a couples' getaway or family fun-filled vacation. The large yet cozy great room includes the kitchen, dining area and den with stone fireplace (gas) and plenty of seating. There is a beautiful view of the river out of the large picture windows. The wrap around deck has outdoor seating and overlooks the Watauga River with its out-cropping of rocks and abundant wildlife.
Two master bedroom suites, each with queen beds and their own large private baths, sleep 4 adults comfortably. The living room also has a queen size sleeper couch.

For security purposes we have three exterior security cameras - one covering each entrance to the house.

Lovely Mountain Home

House was great and had all the amenities you need for a short stay. Location is great- close to downtown Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain, Hawksnest and Mast General Store. River out back was lovely to watch and even with snow on the ground it was easy to walk down to the edge of it. Communication with host was prompt and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved the stay. Very relaxing. We will return for another family trip. The sound of the water was amazing. The only negative was not being able to get the gas fireplace to work. We highly recommend the property regardless.

Beautiful home by the river

The property was a lovely get-a-way by the Watauga River. The driveway was a little tricky, but the rest of the home was perfect. Clean and beautifully decorated. Info on all equipment was easily understood. We hope to stay there again.

Beautiful escape at Riverplace

This was our third time back at Riverplace and we will continue to return because it’s the perfect spot for us. Accommodations are ideal for a family looking to enjoy the outdoors in the backyard as well as traveling to neighboring towns. Valle Crucis has so much to offer, but Riverplace is just 15 minutes to Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Thank you Tamara for being a great host!

Beautiful stay

Hearing the river with the rapids at night was a lovely experience! It is a nice property and convenient compared to some of the places we rented in this location! Driveway is a bit tricky. The Property manager was very pleasant and helpful! The kitchen was very guest friendly and basic amenities were there! I would rent this home again!

Location was great. Right on the river with plenty of outdoor spaces to sit & enjoy. Interior was clean & decorated beautifully. Gas logs were nice as we arrived to winter temperatures. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need & all the pots & pans were in great condition, I mentioned this because we have stayed places that the frying pans were so wore that they really needed to be thrown out. We definitely hope to stay again & for longer

Spring Break inBoone

Family had a great stay. Location close to very good NC trout fishing with easy access both at the home and at the Valle Crucis Community Park. Mast general store right there as well. Close to Boone proper. House had great decks to enjoy watching the Watauga River. Nice kitchen and bedrooms with comfortable beds. Living room had good couches and recliners. Greet place to stay for a family that likes outdoors though likes to home body as well.

Nice home

Lovely home for my family of 4. We stayed for 7 nights and even brought our dog. Place was clean and same as listing. We saw the river go from empty to basically flooding and it was magical. The master room bed is extremely high which was fine for me but a little hard for my husband. There are two rooms so when it says sleeps 6, that means two people on pull out couch. It is a big space and worked great for us. About 20-25 minutes from both Sugar and Beech Mountains which is why we traveled there. Short drive to Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing rock. So much to do. Would stay again. Thanks!

Short but Sweet

When they say "on the river," they really meant "on the river!" It's scenic location is second to none. Your morning coffee routine will never be the same! The house was well stocked with anything you need, but a general store is just a hop skip and a jump down the road for your convenience. There are easy to follow instructions posted throughout the house for locks, remotes, lights, A/C, etc. If you are the adventurous type (not me really) please be careful as the terrain is very slick - it's the mountains people :) IF there is something to critique, the exterior of the home really needs a complete refresh starting with a good powerwashing on the decks. The homeowner was responsive and kind and appreciated feedback. Thank you again for opening your home to us.

Excellent with a few little kinks

The property is really lovely. I will bear in mind that we were the first guests the owners had after Hurricane Helene so I am assuming that most of the little things were not noted prior to our arrival due to the break in action and just dealing with the larger issues of storm damage etc. The upstairs/bedroom TVs did not function and the alarm on the door had some setting issues that were a bit annoying, the dishwasher was not unloaded before we got there. But these are minor housekeeping issues that I am certain are normally tended to. Generally, the place is lovely, the views from the very large deck and super comfortable Adirondack styled dining and seating areas were truly beautiful with the River rapids right at our feet. Location was super convenient and overall just a a very pleasant stay. We had tix to the App game and had a day of hiking planned but truly, as enjoyable as both those things were, it was hard to leave that deck and that view for the day after Breakfast! The living area and entertainment space is HUGE for only a two bedroom house. Great value, beautiful home!

On the river

We were looking forward to our stay at this property because of its location on the Watauga River. We have driven by this property hundreds of times because we usually stay in Vilas. The interior was clean and comfortable, but very outdated and could use some upgrades. Where we were disappointed was with the exterior. This home is on a beautiful property, but it has not been maintained. We went there for the River, but it was very difficult to get to it because the property is so overgrown. The exterior of the house was extremely dirty. We had to clean the decks and furniture before we could even use them because of all the spider webs and spiders. Once we did that we were able to enjoy sitting outside and listening to the River. This property has the potential to be a beautiful getaway, but needs a lot of TLC.

Riverfront dream!

Such a great experience for a small family. We have a 5 year old son and having a separate room directly down the hall with his own bathroom was perfect! The view of the river from almost every room in the house was magical. The house was extremely clean and well maintained. I don’t have one bad thing to say about the house only positives!
