The staff was verh helpful from the cleaners to check in. Everyfhing was perfect, the only thing i felt was missing during my stay, was an iron and ironing board. Other than this, the room state, modernisation, locality, staff everything was perfect.

Good basic accommodation . Staff very friendly in bar so could not understand other comment. Was what I expected except not as Expedia had said and mobility accessible. Stairs to bedroom steep. Bed and chairs low. Otherwise it would have been a five around for price and things on your doorstep. All good.

Absolutely beautiful hotel ..... immaculately clean and lovely and warm. Nothing was too much trouble for the manager either who kindly let me check in after 11pm. I will look forward to staying again.

Superb in every way...
A beautiful, newly refurbished hotel with quality carpet, tasteful furniture and chic decor, in a great location with adjacent free private parking. Quick and easy check in with very helpful staff. Housekeeper is absolutely delightful, highly professional and keeps this gem in perfect condition. We stayed an extra night just to enjoy the lovely vibe of this boutique hotel and experience the friendliness of the small Yorkshire town. Every amenity is within a short walk, but the building is very quiet. Wonderful Spanish Tapas in the classy cocktail bar beneath the hotel, but no noise or disturbance from it. We will most definitely return to Churchill's every time we're anywhere in the area. The owner's vision has created an oasis of charm, comfort and peace.

When we arrived to check in, the bar staff who had been asked to do this made it clear that they were a separate business and they were doing this as a “favour” to the room rental owner. Their attitude was fairly negative, as if they saw this as a burden and not at all welcoming. The room was clean and newly refurbished, but strangely, with poor use of space, e.g. a 6ft guy can’t sit on the loo easily because of the vanity washstand, of which the basin is very small. No hooks, one bedside drawer, 3 hangers for a double room, only 1 bedside table. Pity, because the price was good…
