Unfortunately, the smell of dogs was noticeable throughout the carpets in both the rooms and hallways. While the rooms were clean, they felt tired and still had a strong dog odor. There are no dog-free rooms available, so if you have allergies, I wouldn’t recommend booking here. You can also feel dog hair in the carpets as you walk around the hotel, which may be uncomfortable for some guests. On the positive side, the staff was amazing—friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, which made the stay more pleasant. Parking is convenient, but as a solo female traveler, I felt uncomfortable walking to the car park at night, as it’s located at the back in a quiet, deserted area. It was a little noisy as it's on the main road but I blocked that out with earplugs and had one of the best night's sleep I've had in a long time! Breakfast was good with lots to choose from. Menu is fantastic, great choice of beer too. Staff are always so helpful and hospitable. Rooms a bit tired but clean and warm. Comfy bed clean room and loved the fact there was good quality decaf tea/coffee and plant based milk. I liked the secure car parking but would be tricky if you had a big car. And I expect it gets full quite quickly. Room clean and comfortable, lots of attention to detail with nice toiletries and tea tray. Breakfast was very good and the evening meal of belly pork was delicious. We were at the front of hotel on a noisy street, lots of drinkers outside the pubs and a costa shop delivery lorry banging every night around midnight -1am. no heating or hotwater on last morning. Lovely Frome is worth exploring and the pub restaurant very welcoming .
