Came to Baton Rouge and stayed here after a comedy show and was not pleased while checking in. we were greeted by the clerk, and immediately the clerk was bombarded by another staff member talking about cleaning rooms and being done and ready to go home. This conversation continued throughout the course of our check-in and another staff member entered, saying that they would clean one more room, and that was it. To me, the conversation was very unprofessional and distasteful to have in front of hotel guests. It held up our check-in quite a bit. So much so, the hotel clerk could not properly check us in and did not know she had not taken my card until we were almost on the elevator. Upon entering the room, we came to realize that there were no hand towels or washcloths. The trash bags were not in the trashcan. There were no amenities like soap, shampoo, or conditioner that typical hotels have. The shower had hair in it. It seems the bathroom was halfway cleaned. The hotel itself seems new. I believe this may be the main reason why it appeared clean. This could have been a better stay considering the condition of the hotel. I believe the staff needs to be addressed about professionalism.
