We spent 2 weeks at the Rapeepan Ville Hotel. Our experience from beginning to end was perfect! The staff makes you feel like it's your second home. Our room was spacious & well maintained. The restaurant serves delicious meals! I highly recommend the fried shrimp in tamarind sauce & banana flower in coconut milk soup. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Ubon.

A delightfully functional and clean hotel located on some random road that leads into the Thai Issan town of Ubon Ratchathani. The hotel seems as though it is totally new and had just opened the week before we arrived. Almost had that new hotel smell. While the reception staff could’ve peaked a little more in the ubiquitous Thai smile department one often hears about, they made up for any perceived shortcoming with their lightning efficiency.

Property was as expected for the price and location. No frills, very helpful staff. Just a free and the best service you could ask for. Bathroom and shower has openings to the outside air so keep it from being too humid in the room. Not a bad idea at all.

This was a great hotel for our stay. It was walkable to transportation and dining. The room was spacious and the beds were moderately comfortable. We had a very large window with a great view. It was less than ten minutes from the airport. They offered us a free ride to the airport.

The best area to stay in Bon, Ubon Ratchathani Province, is typically in Ubon Ratchathani City itself, particularly near the Mun River or the city center, as Bon is a smaller district without significant tourist infrastructure.
For travelers seeking convenience and access to local amenities, staying near the Ubon Ratchathani City Pillar Shrine or along Chayangkun Road is ideal. This area is the commercial and administrative heart of the city, offering a wide selection of restaurants, markets, and shops. It's a practical choice for solo travelers who want easy access to transportation and various dining options.
Couples looking for a more relaxed setting might prefer accommodations closer to the Mun River, especially around Riverside Road. This location offers pleasant views and a more tranquil environment, with several guesthouses and boutique hotels providing a comfortable base for exploring the city's temples and cultural sites.
When is the best time to go to Bon?
The best time to go to Bon is during the dry season, which runs from November to February.
This period offers pleasant weather with cooler temperatures and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the region's attractions. You'll find it comfortable for outdoor activities like visiting temples, exploring the Mekong River, and enjoying local markets.
For those interested in cultural events, November often features the Loi Krathong festival, a beautiful celebration with lanterns and decorated floats on the water.
