Spectacular stay-we didn’t leave the bungalow except for going out to eat. We just sat on the back balcony and stared at water, watched boats, planes, while reading and being present. Perfect stay for couples that like and love each other

Everything was exactly as advertised. Very spacious and comfortable bungalow. Nir was fantastic, from picking us up to telling us everything we needed to know about the island. Can’t say enough good things about our stay! Highly recommended!

Wonderful vacation

Everything about this place was fantastic. We loved it from start to finish. The only problem was that it was our time here was too short. Swimming right off the dock was a favourite for us, the area was quiet and peaceful, and Nir was so helpful.

Better than Photos

My new husband and I spent our honeymoon here. Not only was booking with Richard easy, the entire trip was made simple and the bungalow was better than what we imagined. If we ever make it back we will definitely be booking with Richard again and we will be suggesting this stay to all of our loved ones.

Perfect location!

We really enjoyed our stay at Black Pearl OWB. The location is great -- you can watch both sun rise and sunset! We took lots of nice pictures. And of ciyrse snorkeling, kayaking every day. I saw someone digging out a huge octopus right under the deck! Also a shark swam by one day.

A wonderful experience of Bora Bora mainland

We loved our stay at the Black Pearl and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to explore the mainland of Bora Bora besides just a resort experience. We saw eagle rays from our sun deck every morning, we used the kayak to paddle to the islands across, the location was super convenient, just a walking distance from trails around. The property manager helped us book an incredible snorkeling boat tour with a guide who picked us up right from our deck. Such a beautiful experience!

Holiday vacation

My family of six shared the Black Pearl and Marlon's Overwater bungalow. The snorkeling off the deck is fantastic and Nir has been available to answer any questions. We have had a great time exploring the island with our rental car from Nir. The teenagers have stayed busy with the kayaks. This was a excellent choice for our vacation. The bungalows are comfortable and convenient to the water. I only wish I could return annually.

Black Pearl

We stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it so much! The location was on a quieter part of the island and our bungalow was very isolated compared to most. The house was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved being able to step off our deck and into the water. We also loved feeding the fish cornflakes and watching them swarm around us. We even saw a stingray one night. The kayak was an added bonus and we had fun using it as well. The property manager was very responsive and helped answer any of our questions. Great place to stay and we highly recommend. We will be coming back!

Overwater bungalow nirvana

Can’t say enough about our stay in the overwater bungalow. From the time mr. Nir picked us up at the ferry dock to the time he dropped us off after our stay, it was pure heaven!! The crystal clear blue water right off our dock was great for snorkeling. The bungalow itself was impeccable with everything you needed. We hated to leave. We would highly recommend this to everyone. Amazing

This place was perfect!. We rented a car from Nir, which I would highly recommend. He makes it so easy, he meets you as soon as you are off the shuttle boat with the car and keys and a local phone in case you need it. It rained all day the day before leaving so we drove around the island and checked out some restaurants/bars that were located in hotels and we for sure Had the best accommodations, area of the island and the best view with our own aquarium to to swim in everyday. Nir was so helpful and very fast to help with anything. I only had two questions and he was very prompt to answer them back. Side note about the island. If you stay there on New Year’s Day know all the stores and restaurants are closed this day. There is a contact in the bungalow to hire a private chef if wanted. They make fresh bread everyday at the local grocery store. Once we caught onto this we went every morning to get warm fresh baked bread.Even though we’re not big tv people having Netflix on the living room tv was nice to have.

Paradise Found

Absolutely wonderful. A beautiful location and property. Better then you can even imagine. Fish, sharks and rays visible from the porch. You can jump right into the water from the porch and swim or snorkel. Yes, you can pay hundreds more to stay over in the resort area huts, but Richard's property, especially the Black Pearl are isolated and much more private. It is beautifully maintained, and furnished and the bed is so comfortable. You can still do all the lagoon tours, jeep rides etc. and they will pick you up right at the hut. And let's not forget the property manager Nir and his wife. They are wonderful, friendly people who go out of their way to make sure you are happy, and your needs met. He gives you a phone to contact him if you need anything. Definitely rent one of Nir's cars. A lot cheaper than the other rental companies. Also contact him to make reservation arrangements for tours as he can get you discounts. If you want to buy black pearls, ask for his advice where to shop. Finally, lots of great restaurants. Richard will send you a list after booking and they were all great. There is probably no more beautiful place on earth then Bora Bora. Charles and Cheryl

Black Pearl Paradise

This is an amazing home—very well-appointed and comfortable, with a spectacular setting surrounded by turquoise water! Nir was the perfect attentive manager and we agree with the other reviewers re: how smooth and wonderful this experience was. We cooked in each night, since the home is located on the opposite end of the island from the restaurants, but that was our preference anyway, as we loved the well equipped kitchen and great barbecue. While we loved seeing the gorgeous fish right off the deck, as well as watching the canoe races, we only snorkeled off the deck once, as the stairs were a little difficult to maneuver. However, we adored Matira beach and it was worth the 20-minute drive each day to be able to swim forever in what seemed like a giant aquarium—this is an amazing beach that is often deserted except for cruise ship days. We had the beach almost to ourselves for 6 of the 7 days. We highly recommend a new restaurant on the marina at the Top Dive shop—called Mai Kai. It is right on the marina, with views of the cruise ships; food is fantastic and what makes it extra special is that the menu is the same for lunch and dinner, unlike other places that have only a few offerings at lunch. We appreciated getting the feel of the island, shopping for groceries with the locals, walking past the homes during our daily hour walk along the road, waving to school children on the buses, making peace with all the dogs, and feeding a few kittens who waited for us each day. Only negatives were the occasional road noise at night, and the unfortunate daily construction noise from the condo being built across the street. Regardless, we left with many beautiful pictures and fond memories.

Spectacular lagoon experience

The view surrounding the Black Pearl is hard to comprehend until you are physically on the property. Look out the windows in the living room and bedroom, and you enjoy a full view of the gorgeous turquoise water and boats going by in the distance. Stand on the back deck of the Black Pearl and look over the railing at the clear shallow water below, and you can see all of the life on the lagoon floor; late afternoon is a good time to see various fish swim by, and it's hard to tear yourself away to go to dinner in time to watch the sunset. The two kayaks available at the Black Pearl are another way to enjoy the peaceful shallow water around the Black Pearl, even for novice kayakers. And of course, snorkeling in the area around the Black Pearl is like having your own lagoon. The Black Pearl's privacy is a great advantage. One day during our vacation, we rented a pontoon boat and explored other parts of the lagoon, including those around the hotel area. The houses on the water there are clumped together closely, with long shared walkways, a huge contrast to the privacy of this single home with its single walkway. The Black Pearl is a wonderful retreat for those seeking privacy, yet still wanting to be able to drive to wonderful restaurants and the well-stocked Chin Lee's grocery. And if it rains, you still have a great view from the covered deck and a wonderful well furnished indoor space with high quality appliances in the kitchen and a beautiful walk-in shower in the bathroom. The owner supplies a cell phone to contact Nir in case of problems, but otherwise you are free to enjoy this amazing private place. Just make sure you stay as long as you can.

Beautiful location - Not a great stay

Our 2nd time in Bora staying at the condos-our 1st time at No5. The condo is nicely laid out and the bed was very comfortable. Air works well and the bathroom is nice. The outside grill is good.We rented a car from Nir and it was a great rental(aircond works great too). We did have a few challenges. When we arrived the 2 sunlounges were broken and could not be used. We asked Nir for replacements/loaners for our 10 day stay but never received anything. This was a huge disappointment since the reason you go to Bora is for the sun. There is only one 2-person kayak. On day 2 the toilet broke at 7am.Nir said he would send someone who did not arrive until 330pm. He didnt fix the toilet and we waited until the next morning for the fix. Waiting over 24 hours for the only toilet to be fixed? There are 4 blinds in the living room looking out onto the lagoon. 2 of them were broken 50% of the view was obscured. Nir said he knew about that but never told us and didn’t offer any solutions so again we figured it out on our own. Finally a chair I was sitting in broke and I tumbled over backwards onto the tile floor. This was day 7 and we decided to leave the condo early and go to a resort for the final 3 days. All this time with everything that happened we did not receive an apology or inperson visit from the host. I have communicated with the owner who said I should have called him(he lives in the USA)so why have a host on the island? It was not the luxurious condo advertised unfortunately.

Fantastic!!!!

This was our dream retirement trip, and we booked this overwater bungalow a year in advance to stay two weeks. We completely loved staying here!!! It was very private and spacious and beautiful and well-equipped. Nir was also fantastic - we communicated before and during our stay. He was always very friendly, quick to respond, and his recommendations were great! You will need a car to stay here. We rented a car from Nir, and he made it so easy & convenient! (Plan ahead to bring local XPF currency for that). The coral and fish directly around the bungalow were unbelievably beautiful! We spent many hours in the water right there. Sometimes the water was so clear that we didn't even need to get in to watch the fish! We used the bungalow's kayak and paddled out to the motu, which was fun & gorgeous! There is so much to watch just while relaxing on the back deck of the bungalow- ferries, planes, tour boats, kayaks, etc. This is a great place to relax, have fun, and enjoy all that Bora Bora has to offer! My husband & I highly recommend it, without hesitation!

Best place to stay with easy access to the water. Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. Lots of activities are avaliable as well. The bungalow was exceptional. A grill on the back patio as well as a kayak to paddle arpund in.

A little Paradise

My husband and I had a fantastic stay in the 'Black Pearl" Bungalow. It was beautifully decorated and had all the most updated appliances we could ask for. The BBQ was great!We loved that the air conditioning covered the entire bungalow. It was fantastic to step into the water off of the private landing. Our dock was a private entrance and we loved that entire privacy of this bungalow.The road behind us was noisy ,however this was the only small issue.The property manager "NIR" was fabulous ! He gave us a phone to use and we called him for any questions. He was so happy to help us and organized a private snorkle tour for us which was the most amazing experience we had. We followed some Manta Rays. We highly recommend this VROB if you want a private bungalow and local experience in the real Bora Bora.

21 Days In Paradise!

We had an amazing 21 days at the Black Pearl - Nir and Taire were incredibly accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. Nir was always available for any questions, and Taire even picked us up at the dock and took us to the rental car location. Check-in was smooth, and Nir provided us with a local phone for easy communication. The location is exceptional, offering privacy compared to other options. Renting a car from Nir is a must for exploring the island. The bungalow was clean and well-equipped, exactly as advertised. We spent most of our time swimming, snorkeling, or enjoying the stunning views from the deck. The Saturday morning outrigger canoe races passing by were a highlight. The amenities, from the comfortable bed to the thoughtful lighting, exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed grilling fresh fish and sampling various restaurants on the island. La Villa Mahana was a standout for special occasions, while Snack Matira offered a more casual experience right on one of the world's top beaches. Overall, it was the best vacation we've had. Wonderful stay!

We celebrated our anniversary here, and enjoyed it very much. The local managers were extremely helpful when checking in and out, and we would definitely recommend renting the car you will need directly from them. Overall a wonderful stay.
