Once you've checked out all of the well-known places in Downtown Eastside, there's more to explore in the surrounding area. Pick up the keys to a rental car, stow your luggage in the trunk and get on the road. These are some road trips we think you'll love:

• Make tracks to Victoria for a fun-filled sightseeing adventure. Roughly 60 miles from Downtown Eastside, it has numerous amazing attractions, including British Columbia Parliament Building.
• Your next stop? Consider Abbotsford, which is around 40 miles away. Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre is one local hot spot you shouldn't miss.
• Head to Chesterman Beach to feel grounded in nature. Take a picnic to enjoy or just sit and unwind. From Downtown Eastside, it's roughly 130 miles away.
