"A wonderful lodge for the last night in France 🇫🇷 we wish we could have stayed longer.
My children loved the little hide away bedroom and the roll top bath.
Clemence offered an excellent dinner recommendation at a local craft beer tap room. The food was divine! As was the beer.
We would highly recommend this accommodation."

Charming stay in a beautiful, classical manse in Bayeaux in the Normandy region. Though not in Bayeux town, the location is convenient for a full-day D-Day experience (my reason for visiting). The owner recommended a great place for dinner and provided home-made apricot and red currant confitures, both lovely with croissants and breads.

What a gem we were so fortunate to find at the last minute! Wonderful service and so beautiful!! Easy drives to the Omaha Beach museum and memorials. Breakfast was very tasty. We wished we had another night to spend to enjoy more time here. A great place for a family of four.

The property is beautifully landscaped, full of flowers. The themed rooms are clever: I stayed in the room called “Dog Tags”. The sport shower is awesome! You can add a breakfast, charmingly served in a metal footlocker. You get a thermos of hot coffee, hot milk, orange juice, cold milk, petits pots de yaourt, baguettes, croissants, butter and jam. The property is located next door to the Overlord Museum and walking distance to the American Cemetery.

What is there not to like about Le Clos. Steps away from Omaha beach. About a mile or two from the American cemetery. D-day history everywhere. A very nice place to stay, quiet, clean and secluded. Fresh homemade pastries in the morning. The only negative is that darn rooster in the morning, which was not their fault. Caroline and her husband did everything to help us on our trip. They gave us maps, information for nice restaurants, and other things to do for the 75th anniversary of D-day. ...

I gave this hotel a five-star rating in every category without hesitation. I can honestly say that this is one of the finest hotels I've ever stayed in. No detail is left unattended, no question by staff or request unanswered, no disappointment in food quality, and obviously, no maintenance deferred in the facility or spacious grounds and rooms. This is a sign of outstanding management and careful selection of staff. I heartily recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to get away from the...

Such a unique place. Love the ambiance love the thought that went into the place. The scenery and nature is so well integrated. We used it as a bed and breakfast place but looks to be the perfect place for a private venue.
Really appreciate the owner C. and all the work she puts into this place. Perfect base to see Normandy..

Beautifully restored 12th century chateau. Modern bathroom inserted into period bedroom with antique furniture. Beds comfortable, adequate lighting, and nice tv. Over the top breakfast with everything one can imagine. Chef/owner prepared dinner by reservation smelled incredible, wished we had known in advance. Good location for Normandy, D-Day tours, and Bayeux Tapestry Museum.

Absolutely stunning. Quiet, beautiful grounds (friendly grounds keeper, Lee). Very welcoming staff, anything you needed. Rooms spectacular. Felt very much in the French countryside. Would have stayed for at least 2 nights maybe 3 to enjoy the property and spend time exploring the beaches and small towns. Highly recommend. Loved our time.

easy check in, super clean rooms, smelled like cigarettes in the morning around facility and inside rooms - smoking shouldn’t be allowed in any capacity in any manner at all - very nice receptionist checking in. Around a 25 minute walk to train station. Giant super market five minutes away

Beautiful property located 5 minutes from the city of Bayeux. This city has some nice reasonable priced places to eat, the famous tapestry that is 70 feet and a large cathedral. D day beaches about 30 minutes away max and of course the museums. Utah,Omaha,Point du hoc.
Prices on site are very high but if you don't mind driving into town it's not a problem. Front desk gentlemen when we checked in spoke good English and was very accommodating.

What is the best area to stay in Cartigny L'Epinay?
The best area to stay in Cartigny L'Epinay is within the village itself, particularly around the church and the few local establishments.
This central part of Cartigny L'Epinay offers a genuine experience of a small Norman village. You'll find the local church, a boulangerie for fresh bread, and perhaps a small shop or two, all within a short walk. The village is surrounded by open countryside, providing a quiet setting.

When is the best time to go to Cartigny L'Epinay?
While Cartigny L'Epinay is a delightful destination year-round, the best time to visit is during the late spring and summer months, particularly from May to September, to fully experience the region's outdoor attractions and pleasant weather.
During these months, the weather is generally mild and sunny, making it ideal for exploring the rolling countryside, visiting local markets, and enjoying the D-Day landing beaches which are a short drive away. This period also sees the most local events and festivals, offering a deeper connection to the local culture.
For those interested in historical exploration, particularly the D-Day sites, visiting in June offers a unique opportunity to witness the commemorative events that take place across the region, though it can be a busier time. The extended daylight hours also allow for more extensive sightseeing.
Travelers looking for a quieter experience while still enjoying good weather might consider September.
