The Space:
La Casa Errante 2 by Tiny Away, on the outskirts of Castilenti, is a 43-minute drive from Pescara. Enjoy a tiny house living by the Fino River, at the base of Gran Sasso, with views of an organic vegetable garden and a small chicken farm.
Explore Europe’s largest green vertical farm, sustainable hemp cultivation, and fresh produce from Sole d’Italia, with easy access to Torre di Cerrano, Costa dei Trabocchi, Rocca Calascio, Campo Imperatore, and Parco Della Majella.
This 221-square-foot tiny house features easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas heated shower.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you’re booking for groups, there are two tiny houses available with 24 hrs prior notice from the host.
Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny house and surrounding areas. All areas are freely accessible to guests, with the exception of the vertical farm and can be visited by appointment only.

La Casa Errante 2 by Tiny Away offers a true taste of Italian countryside life in Castilenti, just 43 minutes from Pescara. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and local culture, this tiny house is a cozy retreat for an authentic Italian experience, away from the usual tourist crowds.
Our local recommendations include Torre di Cerrano, a well-preserved site at the heart of a 3,431-hectare marine protected area. Next, explore the Costa dei Trabocchi, featuring about 30 ancient wooden fishing platforms connected by footbridges from Vasto to Ortona. Then, visit Rocca Calascio, one of Italy’s highest castles at 1,500 meters in Gran Sasso-Laga National Park.
Discover Campo Imperatore, Abruzzo’s largest and highest alpine meadow, known as Italy’s Little Tibet. Finally, enjoy Parco Della Majella, one of Italy’s largest national parks, protected as a Pan Park by the WNF.
Getting Around:
By car:
- From the nearest city, Pescara, it takes approximately 1 hour and covers a distance of 50 kilometers.
- Nearest towns include Montesilvano, 45 minutes away, and Chieti, 1 hour away, both within a 40-kilometer radius.
- The destination is reachable by both 2WD and 4WD vehicles.
By public transport:
- Guests can reach our property by train or bus from Pescara, the nearest city.
- There are regular train and bus services connecting Pescara to nearby towns.
- From Pescara, it takes approximately 1 hour by train or bus to reach Castilenti. Additionally, we offer a private shuttle service from Pescara to Castilenti for €30 for up to 4 people plus luggage.
- To get to the nearest towns from our property, guests can use local bus services or hire a taxi. The nearest towns include Montesilvano, 45 minutes away by car, and Chieti, 1 hour away by car.
- There are taxi services available in the area for transportation within Castilenti and surrounding areas.

- Expect livestock (and noise) on our property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- No smoking inside the tiny house, except outside
- Expect limited connectivity as we are set in a rural locality
- We would like to advise guests that later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows and doors when leaving
- Mobile signal is good for Vodafone, Orange S.A., Wind, and Three; The rest has weak signals
- You’ll find free-range chickens on the property, and the neighbor’s rooster may wake you in the morning.
- We have an affectionate medium-sized male dog on-site; if necessary, we can relocate him to another area.
- Pets are allowed by 24 hrs prior notice, and must be on leash at all times. The full policy will be sent before arrival.
Important note:
- NO BBQ grill and open fires during dry season or a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests.
