"Right next to Riccarton mall, and heaps of food options, couple of bars close if that your thing. Not sure when it was built, but made it through the earthquakes, showing its age but clean and warm, so more than happy with our stay."

"The accommodation was good but what annoyed me is we tried to turn the tv and heating on (its winter in Chch) and there was no power to either. We looked everywhere for instructions but there was none. Very disappointed, we rugged up on a very cold night and went to sleep. Next morning I told the staff how we had to endure a freezing night and no tv. She was very rude and just said “you have to put your credit card in the slot”. Then proceded to ignore me. I asked why we werent told, she said some rooms have instructions on the wall. Your room must not have it. Sorry. Well thats not good enough. My daughter needed a night away. We wanted to curl up on a cold night and watch a movie. Thanks The Hallswell, not good!!!!!! No compensation offered. Just a grumpy attitude and rude staff."

"A very comfortable hotel to stay in with a great pool, spa & sauna. Food is also fab & there’s loads of parking. Staff are super friendly."

"The hotel was chosen for its location only a couple of minutes walk from the airport terminal. If you have an early flight it is ideal. The room was large and well equipped. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The Bella the cat robot assisted the waitress with serving which was a nice amusing touch. Can't comment on the breakfast as our flight was so early we left before it was served. "

"The kitchen is very dated and requires a refurbishment (and a couple of light bulbs as multiple were blown. Maybe a mouse trap or poison also, last morning there one mouse scurried across the floor to hole in the wall (kitchen). Room was fine, staff were nice. (Winds were awful through the night and destroyed some of the playground equipment). This is not our stay, previous stays were better. "

"Great location for access to the airport. 2 bedroom apartment was a good size for 4 people. Properties dated but what you would expect for the price. All the staff were very friendly and a pleasure to chat to."
