I really wanted to like the Maddox Inn but had to give it a low rating due to cleanliness issues. The staff were helpful and accommodating and the location was great.

It's a well located property. The staff was so kind and they keep clean the pool where you can grill. The included breakfast was so good at next door. There are 2 beds with enough space for 4 adults in the room.

This is an older mom&pop type motel, one story, quiet setting and very convenient to town, beach, etc. Feels like old school Chincoteague. It is in process of some updating with new owners. Bed is comfortable, nice TV with an on screen guide. No vending machines (snacks), no daily housekeeping altho linen exchange is easy.

This is an older beach town. Most of the properties are older motels. I think that is very quaint though. Very pet friendly. Very nice staff. The coffee shop right next door excellent!!!

This property is centrally located along Maddox Blvd in beautiful Chincoteague. Easily in walking distance are shops and a tremendous ice cream and coffee shop, Mister Whippy. The rooms are clean, just a little outdated, but the staff informed us a refresh is coming. Definitely a nice place to stay for the weekend.

I needed a pet friendly place for a few days , literally every hotel on the island doesn’t allow pets! The front desk person was very nice , but the room was absolutely filthy and super outdated . One of the beds was broken and I ended up buying sheets ! Since I was desperate Die to the pet I had to deal!

Don’t usually make complaints but the toilet made a terrible noise every time you flushed it, no extra rolls of toilet paper as back up only the one on the roll, air conditioner also made a terrible noise constantly. And some type of mold on the tv stand which Im sure from the moisture of the air conditioner

This was our "any port in a storm" stay during the Nor'Easter recently. We had no other options for an overnite stay as we had our pup with us. We entered the musty smelling room through cobwebs. Bathroom has mold in the corners and the bottom rim of the toilet was just gross. Bedside lampshades covered in cobwebs. We had little sleep and ended up waking early and just left. No way would I take a shower or use the towels. I feel bad writing this but as a fellow Expedian, I felt obligated. Only reason 2 strs is only because of having our dog.
