The Space:
Grand Lodge 565 is a top-floor (5th-floor) studio in the Grand Lodge — a value-minded base for skiers who want the pool and hot tub steps from the door.
➔ Sleeping — King bed in a separate sleeping area plus a queen pullout couch; a queen air mattress is in the closet if needed. Sleeps 4.
➔ Living — Living area with a top-floor mountain view, TV, and a workspace.
➔ Kitchenette — Mini fridge, microwave, stovetop burner, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and cookware.
➔ Bathroom — Full bathroom with tub/shower.
➔ Shared building amenities — Heated indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, gym, steam room, lobby fireplace, doorman, elevator, and a free town shuttle outside.
3 PROS:
1. A short walk to the lifts with ski valet at the base
2. Pool + hot tub + gym + steam room, plus a free shuttle to downtown
3. The most affordable building at the base
2 CONS:
1. The Grand Lodge was built in 1999 and shows it — simple, older-hotel feel, dated common areas
2. Building amenities are run by a separate company, so hours can change
Guest Access:
You have the studio plus full use of the Grand Lodge's shared amenities — heated indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, gym, steam room, and lobby. The building has a doorman and elevator, free parking with EV charging, and a free town shuttle that stops right outside.
Self check-in is contactless. Before arrival you'll receive an email link to our digital guidebook — it's the only place check-in and door-code details live, so please open it before you travel.
The Neighborhood:
You're at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, a short walk from the lifts, with the free town shuttle stopping outside to carry you the six minutes down to the historic town of Crested Butte — Elk Avenue's restaurants, shops, galleries, and Victorian storefronts.
In every season:
- Winter: walk to the lifts; ski valet at the base
- Summer/fall: wildflower hikes, mountain biking, and rafting minutes away — some of Colorado's best trails
- Gunnison–Crested Butte Regional Airport is about a 40-minute drive
Getting Around:
You can leave the car parked — the lifts are a short walk and the free town shuttle stops right outside to reach downtown Crested Butte. If you do drive, there's free parking with EV charging. Gunnison airport is about 40 minutes.
Other Things to Note:
License #306582
Not pet friendly (only the Grand Lodge's 1st and 2nd floors allow pets; this is a top-floor unit).
No A/C — the mountain climate rarely needs it.
Housekeeping is Airbnb-style, not daily hotel service. Want a mid-stay turnover? Give us 24 hours' notice and we'll coordinate with the cleaner (an added service fee applies).
Building amenities (pool, hot tub, gym hours) are managed by a separate company and can change without notice.
The mountain air is dry; a humidifier is available on request.
Interaction with Guests:
We're a text away — typical response under an hour, and guests regularly note how fast we sort out anything they need (a humidifier, an extra turnover, trail advice). Check-in is contactless; we'll confirm you're in, then leave you to your trip.
